How to use PTFE thread seal tape?

1. Begin by removing any foreign objects from the connecting parts to ensure they are impeccably clean.

2. Pay close attention to the wrapping direction. For instance, when dealing with an angle valve, as it screws into the wall's inner thread, it turns clockwise to the right. Therefore, wrap the PTFE tape counterclockwise to the left on the angle valve. This ensures that tightening the angle valve enhances the seal without loosening.

3. During wrapping, ensure the PTFE thread seal tape is tightly and securely adhered to the threads. It should be wrapped tautly and not loosened. After wrapping, apply pressure with your hands by rotating and pressing it tightly, or wrap while maintaining pressure.

4. The required number of wrapping layers isn't strictly defined; it just needs to be enough to prevent leakage. Typically, experience dictates wrapping it more than ten times to achieve optimal sealing performance.

5. When tightening the threads post-wrapping, apply moderate force. Excessive tightening isn't necessary to prevent leakage; a firm hand-tight feel is usually sufficient.
