Instructions for Using PTFE Thread Seal Tape

1. Start by thoroughly cleaning and removing any debris from the connecting surfaces.

2. Be mindful of the wrapping direction. For instance, with an angle valve, which typically screws into the wall's inner thread clockwise, you'll want to wrap the tape counterclockwise. This ensures that when the valve is tightened, the tape remains secure and does not unravel.

3. As you wrap, ensure the PTFE tape is tightly wound around the threads. Aim for maximal adhesion without slacking. After wrapping, apply pressure by pressing down with your hands, or wrap and press simultaneously for optimal results.

4. While there is no strict guideline on the number of layers, wrap sufficiently to prevent leaks. Experience suggests more than ten layers often deliver a reliable seal.

5. Avoid overtightening during thread assembly. A moderate amount of force, ensuring the connection feels secure, is adequate to prevent leakage.
