How to Use PTFE Thread Seal Tape: A Step-by-Step Guide

1. Begin by meticulously removing any foreign objects from the connecting parts and ensure they are impeccably clean.

2. Pay careful attention to the wrapping direction. Using an angle valve as an illustration, when screwing the angle valve into the wall's inner thread, it turns clockwise to the right. Therefore, wrap the PTFE tape on the angle valve counterclockwise to the left. This ensures that as the angle valve is screwed in, it tightens securely and does not loosen.

3. While wrapping, apply tension to the PTFE thread seal tape, ensuring it adheres snugly to the thread. Aim for the tightest possible wrap without slack. After wrapping, apply pressure by rotating and pressing with your hands, or wrap it while maintaining pressure.

4. The number of wrap layers is not strictly defined, but it should be sufficient to prevent leaks. Generally, experience suggests wrapping more than ten times to achieve a reliable seal.

5. When tightening the thread, avoid excessive force. A moderate amount of pressure is adequate to prevent leaks. The key is to feel a firm resistance while tightening.
