How to use PTFE thread seal tape?

1. Begin by removing any foreign objects from the connecting parts to maintain cleanliness and integrity.

2. Be mindful of the wrapping direction. For example, when dealing with an angle valve, as it is screwed into the wall’s inner thread, it turns clockwise to the right. Thus, wrap the tape counterclockwise to the left on the angle valve. This ensures that when the angle valve is screwed in, it tightens further instead of loosening.

3. While wrapping, ensure the PTFE thread seal tape is tightened firmly against the thread. Aim for a snug fit by pulling it taut and securing it tightly to prevent any slippage. After wrapping, manually rotate and press the tape to secure it, or consider pressing it down while wrapping for added grip.

4. The number of wrapping layers isn't strictly regulated, but it should be sufficient to ensure no leakage. Typically, wrapping more than ten layers is recommended for optimal sealing effectiveness.

5. When tightening the thread, avoid excessive force. A moderate amount of pressure suffices to prevent leakage. Just ensure that the thread feels secure and firm to the touch.
